Comparison of the Engineering Honors Concentration (EHC) and Haslam Leadership Scholars (HALS) Program.
There is enough similarity between the requirements for these two programs that engineering students should be able to complete both.
Course Requirements
Haslam Leadership Scholars who complete the HALS coursework will satisfy 6 hours of the non-STEM 100-200 level honors coursework for their EHC.
Breadth Requirements
EHC
Students working towards an Engineering Honors Concentration must have approved experiences in two of the following areas. One of these must be at an Intermediate level and the other at an Introductory level.
- Research
- Interdisciplinary Coursework
- Entrepreneurship
- Global Experience
- Service Learning
HALS
- Haslam Leadership Scholars who study abroad with their cohort will satisfy the EHC Global Experience requirement at an Introductory Level.
- Haslam Leadership Scholars who complete the HALS coursework will satisfy the EHC Interdisciplinary Coursework requirement at an Intermediate Level.
