Our most driven students complete both curricular and extracurricular requirements established by the National Academy of Engineering to graduate with honors. The program focuses on undergraduate research, interdisciplinary coursework, entrepreneurship, global experience, and service-learning, with an eye toward solving the world’s most pressing challenges.
Admission as a First-Year Student
Admission as a first-year student to the Cook Grand Challenge Honors Program is by invitation, which is extended by the Office of the Dean of Engineering to students meeting rigorous academic standards in their high school coursework. Recent entering classes have had an average high school core GPA of above 4.0 and an average composite ACT of 33.
Application for Current UT Engineering Students
Current UT engineering students may apply to join the Cook Grand Challenge Honors Program after completing one semester at UT as an engineering major. Please complete this application to be considered for honors. Applications will be reviewed at the end of each term (May, August, and December) and students will be notified soon after. First-semester students should wait until they have registered for their second semester courses before applying.
